Blue Rose

The sun shines on a cold winters day
and New Years is not far away
another year is ready to start
and each of us will play our part
acting out this game of life
in a world full of strife.

What will a New Year bring to this world
who will live and who will die
how many fortunes will be won
or lost as fate dictates.

What will it take for us to see
how many lifetimes of which we have one
for us to make a better world
that with each other we all agree.
