The Austin Pond Society held their second meeting of the year at the Zilker Botanical Gardens Meeting room this past Monday, February 15. As usual, we started with a light meal of ham and cheese sandwiches with fruit and cookies for desert. Very appetizing and a great way to start off the meeting. Many thanks to our new volunteer chef, Stephen Monfrini.
Following the usual format, the first 30 minutes was devoted to food and visiting with friends with the general meeting scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. Promptly on time, Barb Lenhardt introduced Shane Stefek from Water Garden Gems and his topic, a subject near and dear to all pond lovers everywhere was “Water Quality and Algae Control”. Shane’s presentation was probably one of if not the best on this particular subject that we have heard. I heartily recommend that you take the time to watch the video below.
