Today is a very wet day
something I have not had to say
for many months along the way
it’s raining today.
In Texas this is the Fall season
as temperatures drop still within reason
the new President has been chosen
it’s raining today.
Most of the leaves have left the trees
and the branches show their ancestries
some have been standing for centuries
it’s raining today.
We have not had rain for a very long time
typical of the Texas clime
one hundred degrees is more in line
but it’s raining today
Today we will not go for a walk
the dogs and I will have to talk
the reason why that I will balk
Because it’s raining today.

Yes!! I don’t know about the dogs, but I was certainly happy about it. Incidentally, we walked anyway in the rain.
