Earth-Moon-Sun

On spins the world in its inexorable way
days following nights as it moves around the sun
once every twenty-four hours to make one trip
and on and on it goes.

The people who reside on this world
feel not the rotation as it spins
nor do they question the difference in time
when night turns into day.

The world has existed for millions of years
man being such an insignificant dot on its face
yet dares to question and to change
its mighty being.

Humankind knows not how to treat the earth
with poisons and pollution flowing free and fast
one day, there will only be one human
who will breathe his last breath.

The world will go on spinning around the sun
days following nights every twenty-four hours
and will cure itself of all of man’s destruction
to live on forever.
